Waggle Dance Records announce The Co-operators' brand new LP A Distant Beat and release the first single 'Singerman', featuring Bristol-based singer Joe Yorke. In classic Waggle Dance style, 'Singerman' is an uplifting tune that echoes the sounds of 60s and 70s Jamaica. Joe Yorke sings in falsetto, explaining his journey from a carpenter to a "singerman", 'I always go the timber way too short as I searched for a distant beat'. The Cooperators explain, 'The LP features eight kitchen sink stories from the breadline, message music for these desperate times'. A Distant Beat was recorded and mixed at Waggle Dance Studios by Eeyun Delroy Purkins employing a combination of traditional and modern recording techniques with the "use what you got" mantra as the studio's foundation stone.
